Pigs, berries, and crowns

How a 17-year-old farmer is using her background to educate others about agriculture through the Miss Tennessee organization

Lily Steed comes from a long line of farmers and educators. Her family owns Circle S Farms, an 8th generation family farm that was founded in 1839 and is located in LaGuardo, TN. Circle S specializes in hog production and agritourism including weddings, berry picking, field trips and a Christmas tree farm. Recently, Lily has been called to shine a light on agricultural literacy so that elementary and middle school children know about where their food comes from . She has decided to do this through the Miss Tennessee competition where she will work to present a platform showing the importance for the next generation to have an appreciation for agriculture and its importance to our everyday lives.
